Famous Duets

We keep a close eye on today’s celebrities. Not only us, it’s the entire mass media that has an eager interest in finding out more details on the personal life of the VIPs.

Throughout the history, there have been some trends that were followed by the “gossip fans”. If we look back in time, we can relate to some celebrities that not only captured the attention of the media, but also managed to change the course of history, in one way or another.

Let’s start with some famous celebrity couples. Who doesn’t remember Cleopatra and Marc Anthony? The exuberant queen and the handsome Roman general? The whole Roman empire was after the latest news and the tragedy of their ending made them part of history.

Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera? What a perfect combination, what an artistic touch, what an inspiring couple. It wasn’t just about their eccentric lives, it was about their original artistic view, their talent; all these inspired an entire age of artistic movement.
Even nowadays, the famous couple was brought to life by Salma Hayek and Alfred Molina. The talent of the actors emphasized the talent of the artists they were playing.

Perfect combination.

Who didn’t hear about the love story between Simon de Beauvoir and Jean Paul Sartre?
Their life time love story was renowned, especially when it gathers two of the influential philosophers and writers of the modern age.
Of course, there was some controversy that made them famous, other than their talent: bisexuality and sharing of partners were part of the couple’s private life.
Still, the modern thinking wouldn’t have been the same without them; and who knows what would have been if they would have not been together, as a couple?

Shall we mention more, such as Ernest Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald? Or C. S. Lewis and J.R.R Tolkien?

That was back in the days.

In present life, we can mention some of these famous friends and leave it up to you to decide the influence they have on the history of man kind: Suki Waterhouse and Cara Delevingne; Miley Cyrus and Miranda Kerr; Gwen Stefani and Nicole Richie; Fearne Cotton and Holly Willoughby and the list could go on, cause they are a lot of celebrities out there that get the media attention.

Although we appreciate the fact that celebrities nowadays influence our sense of fashion, focus our attention on some new trends and tendencies, we wonder: for how long are they going to be remembered?
Will they ever become so influential as to create a new artistic or literary movement?
Does this even matter nowadays?
Are our values the same or they develop every day to thousands of directions?

We could come up with examples that show that creativity goes beyond limits when friendship is involved.

Let’s take Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. Wasn’t that a perfect match?
An Oscar match, we could add.

Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper, they got their share of fame as friends; she even got more than that, giving us some Oscar performance in her “Silver Linings Playbook”.

We might mention some Jay Z and Kanye West here and there, but nothing much came out of that one, other than tons of media coverage J
