Mmm…the truth is that the press has been emphasizing on a more different aspect of the celebrities’ lives. A new fashion trend is on: being Pregnant J
Yes, this is the new “In” thing lately. And we notice that the press and Fashion Police are after one topic only: What are the soon to be mothers going to wear as part of their pregnancy wardrobe?

Remember the times when finding out that a princess was expecting an heir was a reason to celebrate with sending flowers to their castle? Well, that is so yesterday nowadays.

When the news popped up that Kate Middleton and Prince William are expecting another child, everybody started wondering what designer brand will “take care” of the princess’ pregnancy clothes. Is she going to adopt a conservative style or go wild with bold choices? Well, so much for the royal family being stuck in the past conventions. Even the news was shared with the loyal subjects through …you guessed it, Twitter.

Speaking about internet coverage, kind of the same idea was picked up by Blake Lively. She posted a picture of her baby bump on her website, Preserve. Surprise, all the internet population found out. The immediate question: “What will she wear during the pregnancy?” ”Will she be as stylish as before the baby or…?”
All of sudden the media is flooded with her presence at different events, focusing on the wardrobe she’s displaying.

Shakira and Alicia Keys are also expecting. Of course, we need some singers into the mix. Thought that Shakira would stick with the traditional dinner with the family to pop the news? No, she used Facebook.
“Yes, we are expecting our second baby!! Thank you for all your well wishes!”
Put an end to the rumours and make it official. The attention she gets is mostly around her musical career, which is appreciated, as she manages to be discreet and maintain a high level of popularity as well.

Kristen Bell, on the other hand, feels that she needs to express more on her motherhood feelings, on enjoying being a traditional mom that gets the dinner ready every evening for her loved ones.
However, what about the press? Do they maintain the ethics when bringing out these topics when it comes to motherhood? Emphasizing on what she’ll wear, rather than what she feels?

In the same time, we could agree that the focus on the fashion aspects of the pregnancy offers more privacy to the mothers, allowing them to focus on what really counts.

Well, we have to admit that it’s a guilty pleasure of ours to enjoy the fashion gossips, especially when we have such fashion icons displaying pregnancy attires for our inspiration.

Between ethics, motherhood and fashion, there is a compromise that each of us has to make.

At the end of the day, we are women and we wish to be graceful and beautiful regardless of the stage in our life we are in.
